Our Country Magic green and red Swiss chard is produced in a unique micro climate on a peat soil farm located outside Berwick, N.S. The unique climate allows us to maximize the flavor of each plant. The warm days and cool nights ensure that every leaf is crisp and full of flavour.

We maintain uniform soil moisture for tender growth and maximum use of soil nutrients. Here at Country Magic we continue to research and try different varieties of Swiss chard to ensure that we are providing a high quality product that is nutritious and delicious for our customers.
Country Magic Swiss Chard should be stored between 0°C to 4°C until consumed. Avoid storing Swiss Chard with produce such as apples and tomatoes because it is ethylene sensitive.

Swiss chard is a source of vitamins A, C and E and an excellent source of vitamin K. It is also a source of in minerals manganese and magnesium. The amazing variety of phytonutrients in chard is quickly recognizable in its vibrant colors, including the rich, dark greens in its leaves and the rainbow of reds in its stalks and veins. Virtually all of these phytonutrients provide antioxidant benefits, anti-inflammatory benefits, or both.

Country Magic green and red Swiss chard are close cousins to spinach. Adaptable and productive, chard tolerates light frost as well as summer heat. Our green and red Swiss chard have a stronger flavor than that with lighter leaves and stalks.
