The Nova Agri Group of Companies is a leading producer/processor of fruits and vegetables in Nova Scotia. We are currently looking to fill the position of two Machine Operators for the Fruit Facility in Centreville NS. This is a seasonal position July to October.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Machine Operators are responsible to clean/dry, set up, operate and monitor equipment on the packaging line. The Machine Operators are required to operate multiple machines within certain specifications. The Machine Operators have the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve basic operating challenges.

Training & Experience

• Minimum high school diploma is required. Related experience of 1 or 2 years would be an asset.
• Must follow all company GMP’s and SOP’s.
• Computer skills are required.
• Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, problem solving skills are necessary to minimize downtime.
• Provide accurate details to maintenance regarding equipment issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure the adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
• Be able to changeover the equipment in a timely manner as well as set up (assemble and disassemble) equipment to meet and exceed established standards.
• Attention to detail in all areas of work is essential.
• Strong communication, organizational and multitasking skills are essential.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Must be able to work efficiently as part of a team.
• Perform other duties as assigned including sanitation, housekeeping and cleaning of packaging area as required.

The work is for approximately a 12 week period. Flexibility of work hours is required including weekends and holidays. The successful applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.

The rate of pay for this position will be commensurate with the experience, qualifications and education of the candidate.
