Maintenance Technician
Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician at Nova Agri Group is a critical position responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations within our facilities. This role requires a versatile individual with a strong skill set and leadership abilities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our Vegetable Plant and seasonally at the Fruit Plant. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, lubrication, repairs, and automation troubleshooting. Additionally, this role will involve providing support in the Maintenance Shop for field repairs as needed and assisting the Plant Manager during their vacations. The Maintenance Technician will also play a key role in working within and optimizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to streamline maintenance activities and enhance efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe work environment for all employees.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of equipment and machinery.
- Conduct regular lubrication activities to maintain the smooth operation of machinery and minimize wear and tear.
- Perform repairs on equipment and machinery as needed to address malfunctions and ensure continuous operation.
- Troubleshoot automation systems and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Oversee and manage maintenance activities in the Vegetable Plant and seasonally in the Berry Plant, ensuring timely repairs and maintenance tasks are performed.
- Provide support in the Maintenance Shop and other business areas for field repairs and maintenance when required.
- Assist the Plant Manager during their vacations to ensure uninterrupted operation and effective management of the facility.
- Utilize and optimize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, schedule maintenance activities, and manage spare parts inventory.
- Collaborate with other departments and communicate maintenance needs and progress to the Plant Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Red-Seal Millwright certification (valid in Canada) or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Proven experience in maintenance and repair work, preferably in an industrial or agricultural setting.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly in automation systems.
- Experience working with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and ability to optimize its use.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members and provide updates to management.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and be available for on-call duties when required.
