About the role:
In this critical role, you will play a key leadership role on our farm, overseeing various tasks and ensuring smooth operations. You will be responsible for operating a variety of farm equipment, including tractors, trucks, and irrigation systems. You will also be involved in planting, crop scouting, spraying, and harvesting activities.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Lead and motivate a team of farmworkers to ensure efficient task completion.
- Operate and maintain various farm equipment, including tractors, trucks, irrigation systems, forklifts, and sprayers.
- Manage the spraying operation, including ordering, storing, applying, and disposing of chemicals safely and efficiently.
- Maintain the chemical shed and ensure accurate chemical inventory and record-keeping.
- Participate in planting, cultivating, harvesting, and loading/unloading operations.
- Scout crops for weeds, diseases, and insects, and report any issues.
- Perform general farm maintenance and repairs.
- Document all work activities as per company policies and procedures.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and manage time efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and maintain a positive team environment.
- Participate in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous farm experience, preferably in vegetable production, is required.
- A valid Class 3 driver's license is mandatory, with willingness to obtain a Class 1 airbrake license.
- Certifications in First Aid, Forklift Operation, WHMIS, TDG, and other relevant areas are a strong asset.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as operating machinery and lifting objects.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, night and day.

This position reports directly to the Onion Manager. This role offers a clear path for career progression to Onion Manager within 2-4 years.
