Reports to: Plant Manager and Quality & Food Safety Manager

PURPOSE:

To ensure our products, facilities and our people meet our quality standards by monitoring our quality assurance and food safety program.

KEY REPSONSIBILITIES:

• Active and key member of the Blueberry Quality and Food Safety Team
• Participate in regular Blueberry Quality meetings
• Bring any quality concerns forward to the Team

Monitor the Quality and Food Safety Program within the Blueberry Plant

• Perform regular quality and grade checks on products
• Perform weight checks on products (blueberries and tomatoes)
• Perform daily temperature checks
• Perform daily quality audits
• Perform daily pre-operational inspections and monitor sanitation program
• Monitor and enforce our Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
• Monitor cleaning schedules to ensure that tasks are being done and recorded
• Monitor the quality of all products (i.e. CA Product, Export, Smalls, Jumbos, etc.)
• Perform testing for Spotted Wing Drosophila (SWD)
• Maintain quality records
• Assist with lot change over and verify the lot numbers to ensure they are correct

Other Duties

• Assist with grading and packing when necessary
• Assist with getting product for retail store and special orders
• Packaging of special orders for retail and other customers
• Collection of “live” product

QUALIFICATIONS/JOB STANDARDS

• Knowledge of Food Safety and On Farm Food Safety
• Knowledge of fruit grading procedures
• Team Player
• Self-motivated – works well with minimal supervision
• Good documentation skills
• Good communication skills
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
