Truck Driver Operator
Job purpose
This may include tractors, trucks and implements. General Repair and Maintenance will also be required on a daily basis. To perform all farm related tasks that need to be completed and provide competent operation and use of all motorized farm equipment.
Duties and responsibilities
- General Service and maintenance of all farm equipment being operated.
- Competently operate and maintain class 3 and 1 air brake vehicles and trailers for the purpose of completing the necessary farm related tasks. These include but are not limited to trucking produce from the field, hauling manure, soil, equipment or anything that needs to be trucked either in a truck or on a flatbed trailer.
- Competently and effectively carry out any and all activities that are asked of you in order to complete the work at hand. You will need to do some general labor work through the day; ex. grade product off of truck, jump on the harvester, move some rock or irrigation pipe.
- Responsible operation of all tractors, trucks and their associated implements for normal crop production.
- To do all work in accordance with current OHS guidelines. Think safety first.
- Use all necessary PPE that are required to complete your job.
- Correct documentation of all work that is completed as per farm policy and procedures and OFFS. Ex: planting records and log books.
- Provide assistance to others that may need your help. You need to be able to work with other people as well as independently.
- To do all jobs to the best of your ability.
- To attend all necessary training exercises and activities that are offered by the company to build your knowledge.
- Follow, to the best of your ability, all policy and procedures that are in place to help you with job completion.
- Provide effective and complete communication to and from your peers and management.

Qualifications
- General farm experience would be an asset, but is not absolutely necessary.
- You must hold a valid class 3 license.
- Certificates such as First aid, WHMIS, TDG and other job related courses would all be an asset.
- Must follow all company Policies and SOP’s.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
Working conditions
Work conditions are weather and equipment related, night and day. We do work in all weather conditions so you need to be prepared with proper foot wear, jackets, gloves and hats.
Physical requirements
The Truck driver/operator position often requires long hours sitting in tractor/ truck seats which could cause muscle strain in the back and shoulders. There will also be times when lifting heavy objects could cause additional back strain if not done properly.
